Mike grew up in Southern Cali as a Los Angeles Dodgers fan. Rob was born near Boston routing for the Rex Sox. Because their teams were playing for it all, they had to come up with a World Series bet. The results are in. Sox win in 5. Now, Mike has to make the trek to Fenway and watch a game at the best ballpark in America while wearing a Red Sox jersey.
Tough to lose right? Maybe not in this case. Rob busts out Mother Road’s Tower Station to celebrate.
We need some help planning the trip.
Where in and around Boston should we take him for beer and lobster? Perhaps the Sam Adams Brewery in JP? What are your suggestions?
Speaking of Sam Adams, they are releasing a special double IPA in honor of the Sox winning their fourth World Series since 2004. They are calling this Double IPA ‘Damage Done’ after Boston adopted the phrase #DoDamage during this year’s playoffs.
From the sounds of it, this beer could #DoDamage as it checks in with 7.3% ABV. The brewery telling Boston.com:
“As the official beer of the Red Sox, the best way we could think to cheer on our team throughout the season was to shout at the TV with a beer in hand. When the team kept winning, of course we were hopeful for a championship win, but didn’t wanted to jinx it! In anticipation of the post-season, we decided to brew a Double New England IPA to commemorate the team in hopes we’d make it all the way…We look forward to seeing fans at the tap room tomorrow to toast to the Red Sox with us before the parade on Wednesday.”
Sam Adams dropped in vanilla beans, guava, mango and lactose. They add they wanted this project to taste like ‘the Red Sox themselves.’
The small batch Damage Done is only available at their Jamaica Plan Brewery until they run out.
